If no surgery is needed, the assessment can be gap-free for people with private health insurance that covers podiatry. Treatment can usually be performed during your initial appointment.

  • With private health insurance: No out-of-pocket cost for assessment.

  • Without podiatry cover: The assessment fee is reduced to $60 and if you wish to begin treatment on the same day, there will be a small gap fee involved.

Yes! We accept all private health insurance and can claim on the spot. We are also part of the Bupa First program, which may mean no out-of-pocket costs for you.

A gap-free assessment includes a comprehensive consultation with one of our expert podiatrists.
What’s included:

  1. Initial consultation

  2. Thorough assessment and accurate diagnosis

  3. Review of both conservative and surgical treatment options

  4. Discussion of the best treatment tailored to your condition

The Gap-Free Assessment is available for those with private health insurance that includes podiatry coverage. For those without health insurance covering podiatry, the assessment fee is reduced to $60. If you wish to begin treatment on the same day, there will be a small gap fee involved.

  1. Non-surgical:
    1. Trimming the offending nail

    2. Padding

    3. Removing the edge of the nail digging in

    4. Referral for antibiotics if needed

  2. Surgical:
    1. Partial or total nail removal under local anesthetic at our clinic

Our experienced and qualified podiatrists perform ingrown toenail surgery in-office at our Modbury clinic, Leading Health Podiatry.

You can walk out of the clinic after the procedure and perform daily tasks straight away

  • We review the surgical site:

    • 1 day after surgery

    • 1 week after surgery

    • 3 weeks after surgery (should be fully healed)

  • No out-of-pocket follow-up appointments are provided until your nail has fully healed

Most patients resume normal activities immediately after surgery, with minor restrictions on intense exercise or heavy footwear for a short period as advised by your podiatrist.

No. The procedure is performed under local anesthetic, so you should feel minimal discomfort during surgery. Some mild soreness afterward is normal.

Conditions
This offer is available to individuals with private health insurance that includes podiatry cover. If you do not have such cover, a heavily discounted assessment fee of $60 applies. The Gap-Free Assessment covers initial consultation and assessment only and does not include treatment. If you decide to begin treatment on the same day, there will be a gap fee involved. Due to high demand, cancellations made within 24 hours of the scheduled appointment may prevent others from accessing care. If you cancel within that timeframe, you may not be eligible for another Gap-Free Assessment.
